Obverse description Youthful crowned and mantled bust of King Edward VI facing right, rendered in high relief in the hammered style. The king wears an ornate Tudor crown and a richly decorated mantle with visible collar detail. The effigy is contained within an inner beaded border, with the royal legend disposed around the field between the inner and outer beaded circles. The portrait exhibits the characteristic Renaissance-influenced engraving style of the mid-Tudor mint.
