| Beschrijving voorzijde | Rectangular incuse countermark applied to the triangular silver planchet, bearing the inscription TORTOLA in bold upright Latin lettering within a recessed cartouche. The countermark is the sole design element on this face, positioned centrally on the field of the cut piece. The surrounding silver surface retains the irregular texture and cut marks characteristic of a manually severed segment of a Spanish colonial 8 Reales. This Type I countermark is distinguished by its plain rectangular punch with no additional decorative border or device. |
