Reverse description The quartered royal arms of England and Scotland are displayed on a square shield, divided by a plain cross, with lions passant guardant for England in the first and fourth quarters, fleurs-de-lis for France in the second quarter, a lion rampant for Scotland in the third quarter, and the Irish harp in the lower left quarter. Ornate foliate and lion-mask decorations occupy the angles between the arms of the cross. The mintmark EB over 02 appears above the shield, identifying the York Mint emission. The circular legend CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO surrounds the design within a beaded border.
