| 备注 |
British Armed Forces Special Vouchers — universally called BAFSVs — were designed specifically to prevent foreign currency black markets. Troops stationed in Germany, Cyprus, and other postwar garrisons were paid in vouchers rather than sterling or local currency, making it harder to trade pay into Deutschmarks or other negotiable currencies at unofficial rates. The 3rd series replaced the 2nd in 1956 as part of a routine security refresh, a cycle the War Office repeated whenever forgery or leakage became a concern.
BAFSV notes are frequently found with unit stampings or endorsements applied by pay offices — these are not damage but deliberate control measures, and their presence can actually help trace a note's garrison history.
