Obverse description Printed in black and green on white paper, the obverse bears the letterpress headings 'ORANJE VRIJ STAAT' and 'POST NOOT' across the top, with the denomination '1/-' in a bold black panel at upper right. A green stamp vignette inscribed 'EEN PENNY' and 'COMMISSIE LOON' is affixed within a decorative border at upper left, while the body carries Dutch-language text setting out payment conditions with manuscript entries for the payee and amounts. Multiple circular cancellation handstamps are present, including an 'African Banking Corporation' impression in blue and a postmaster's stamp, together with a manuscript signature.
