Reverse description The central design features a finely detailed depiction of a Polish Hanukkah lamp (chanukiah) of the 19th century, rendered in high relief against a plain field. The eight-branched candelabrum stands upon an ornate square base with decorative scrollwork, supported by a baluster-form stem with bulbous knops; the shamash holder surmounts the central shaft, topped by a stylized bird finial. The arms of the chanukiah curve gracefully outward and upward, each terminating in a cup-shaped oil reservoir. A Hebrew legend curves along the lower portion of the field, reading right to left, with a small Star of David at lower left serving as a punctuation mark.
