Mohammad Ali Shah's reign was cut brutally short by the Constitutional Revolution — he ordered the bombardment of the Majles in June 1908, the very year this coin was struck, and was deposed the following year. The 1 Shahi Sefid sat at the lowest denomination of the Qajar silver series, and pieces from his brief rule are correspondingly scarce simply because the mint's priority was larger denominations during a period of acute political crisis.
