Obverse description Central field bears a three-line Arabic religious invocation within a beaded inner circle, reading 'Ya Sahib al-Zaman Alayhi al-Salam' — an appeal to the Hidden Imam of Shia Islam. The mint name 'Tehran' appears at the base of the central inscription. The entire central device is surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel branches tied at the bottom, framed by a toothed border running along the coin's rim.
