The central field is framed by a beaded inner border with floral or arabesque vine decoration filling the outer marginal areas. The names of the Imams — from Ali through Hasan al-Askari to Muhammad al-Mahdi — encircle and continue through the legend. The coin's off-flan strike results in some peripheral text being partially struck up or missing at the rim. |
