| Obverse description | The obverse displays a multi-line Persian inscription in bold Nasta'liq script arranged in horizontal registers across the coin's field, enclosed within a plain linear border. The legend reads a devotional and royal formula identifying Sultan Husayn as servant of the threshold of the Commander of the Faithful. The mint name (Isfahan) and regnal year appear in the lower register. Decorative rosette or pellet ornaments punctuate the spaces between the lines of text. The flan is slightly off-center, causing partial loss of the outer legend at the periphery. |
