Obverse description Central field dominated by multi-line Arabic calligraphic legend in bold nasta'liq script, reading 'bande shah-e velayat Husayn, zarb Qazvin 1131', identifying the issuer as Shah Husayn, servant of the King of Sainthood, with the mint name Qazvin and the AH date 1131 prominently placed at the lower register. The legends are arranged in flowing curved bands characteristic of Safavid coinage. The entire design is enclosed within a border of raised beads, typical of hammered Safavid silver issues. The surfaces show the irregular flan edges and slight die shift common to hand-struck coinage of the period.
