| Obverse description | Central field bears the name 'Abbas (عباس) inscribed within a circular cartouche, surrounded by the mint name Baghdad (بغداد) and the regnal date 1033 AH. The legends are rendered in bold nasta'liq calligraphic script, characteristic of Safavid hammered coinage. The flan is irregular in shape and shows typical die-struck relief with surface granularity consistent with hand-struck silver production of the period. |
