Obverse description Hammered silver flan bearing a Persian-script legend divided into quadrants by two intersecting lines, a typical Safavid cartouche format. The inscription reads 'بنده شاه ولایت عباس بغداد' (Banda-yi Shah-i Wilayat Abbas / Baghdad), identifying the ruler Shah Abbas I and the Baghdad mint. Pellet ornaments are visible between the textual elements, filling the quadrant fields. The script is rendered in a bold nasta'liq-influenced style characteristic of late sixteenth- and early seventeenth-century Safavid coinage. The flan is irregular in shape with a slightly uneven rim, consistent with hand-struck hammered production.

Reverse description The reverse displays the Shi'a profession of faith (kalima) in Persian-script legends arranged within a horizontal band across the coin's field, with additional text in the lower register. The inscription reads 'لا اله الا الله محمد نبی الله علی ولی الله' (There is no god but God; Muhammad is the Prophet of God; Ali is the Wali of God), reflecting the Safavid state's Twelver Shi'a identity. The script is executed in a fluid nasta'liq-influenced hand across an irregular flan. The field shows typical die wear and flan irregularities associated with hammered coinage of the period. No mint or date appears on this side, as those elements are confined to the obverse.
