| Obverse description | Central field displays the Visconti heraldic shield bearing the biscione (a crowned serpent devouring a human figure), surmounted by a crested helm from which a dragon or wyvern crest emerges, rendered in the Gothic style typical of 14th-century Milanese coinage. Flanking the shield are the letters G and Z, identifying the issuer Galeazzo (II) Visconti. A circular legend in uncial Latin characters runs around the periphery, enclosed within a beaded inner border. |
