Obverse description Bust of Alessandro Farnese facing right, depicted in a simple draped style characteristic of late sixteenth-century Italian hammered coinage. The portrait occupies the central field, rendered in low relief with broad, somewhat crude workmanship typical of small-denomination billon issues. A Latin legend surrounds the effigy, partially visible along the periphery of the irregularly shaped flan. The surfaces display heavy wear and dark patination consistent with prolonged circulation. The overall execution reflects the modest artistic standards applied to sesino-class denominations at the Parma Mint.
