Obverse description Left-facing bust of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck wearing the traditional Bhutanese raven crown (Druk Gyalpo), adorned with intricate decorative motifs and surmounted by a raven head. The effigy occupies the central field with strong sculptural relief. A circular Dzongkha legend curves around the upper periphery, with additional script elements at the left. The date 1979 appears in the lower field flanked by two raised dots, rendered in bold Latin numerals.

Reverse description Central device comprising two highly detailed druk (thunder dragons) facing one another in rampant posture, their sinuous bodies flanking a central dharma wheel (dharmachakra) set upon a lotus base, the whole rendered in fine high relief. The composition is enclosed by a beaded inner border. A Dzongkha legend arcs across the upper periphery within the border, while the Latin legend ROYAL GOVERNMENT OF BHUTAN curves along the lower rim, punctuated by raised dots, with the denomination 1 SERTUM inscribed at the right.
