| Obverse description | Central field displays the denomination in Chinese characters 一錢 (1 Sen) arranged vertically within an open wreath composed of rice stalks, their heads heavy with grain, curving symmetrically from a tied ribbon bow at the base. The wreath is bound at the foot with a decorative ribbon. The entire design is enclosed within a rope-style border at the rim, giving the composition a refined, formal character consistent with Meiji-era engraving standards. |
