背面描述 An anchor depicted in high relief at centre, with a broad crossbar, a central shank, and a curved stock at the base, all rendered in the bold, schematic style of Etruscan aes grave. Six pellets are distributed around the anchor in the field, serving as value marks. The entire design is enclosed within a raised circular border. No legend or inscription is present.

附加信息

The wheel/anchor series of heavy cast bronze belongs to a cluster of Etruscan issues whose mint attribution remains genuinely unresolved — Vetulonia, Populonia, and several inland centers have all been proposed without consensus. What is clear is that these pieces were struck during a period of rapid monetary disruption, as the Second Punic War's approach was already straining central Italian bronze supplies and pushing mints toward lighter standards. The five-spoke wheel distinguishes this dies from the more common four-spoke varieties catalogued by Haeberlin, making it a minority type within an already scarce series.
