Obverse description Central crowned interlaced CL monogram of Duke Christian Louis I, rendered in relief within the coin field. The monogram is surmounted by a ducal crown with visible arches and cross finial. The circular legend LANDMVNZ runs partially around the periphery of the field, identifying the piece as local territorial coinage. The design is executed in the hammered style typical of late seventeenth-century German petty coinage.
