Obverse description Royal crown displayed above a large cursive capital C monogram enclosing the numeral 4, forming the royal cypher of Christian IV of Denmark. The date is divided to either side of the monogram within the field. Small heraldic emblems flank the crowned monogram, all within a beaded border typical of hammered coinage of the period.

Reverse description Four-line inscription in Gothic lettering occupying the central field, reading I / OES / LINCK / LVES, denoting the denomination and issuing authority.
