Reverse description The enthroned Madonna of San Luca, veiled and draped, is depicted seated upon billowing clouds, holding the Christ Child on her lap; the Child is crowned with a floral wreath and faces the viewer. Below the celestial group, a detailed panoramic view of the city of Bologna fills the lower field, featuring recognizable landmarks including towers, domes, and city walls rendered in low relief. Four six-pointed stars are distributed symmetrically in the field flanking the figures. The encircling legend PRAESIDIVM ET DECVS, separated by pellets and stars, runs along the inner border. The overall composition follows the devotional iconographic tradition long associated with the patronal image venerated at the Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca.
