| Obverse description | Central papal coat of arms displayed within an ornate oval cartouche, surmounted by the crossed keys of Saint Peter and the papal tiara emanating rays, with elaborate acanthus scrollwork flanking the shield on either side. The shield is quartered and bears floral sprigs in the lower portion with three stars above, consistent with the Braschi family arms of Pope Pius VI. A laurel branch appears at the lower left of the cartouche. The circular legend PIVS SEXTVS PONT M A VI runs along the coin's periphery in Latin capitals, partially visible at left and right, with the obverse struck within a finely milled border. |

| Reverse description | A majestic allegorical figure of the Holy Mother Church (Ecclesia) seated facing slightly left upon billowing clouds, robed and radiate, holding the key of Saint Peter in her left hand and a palm branch in her right. To the lower right, a classical architectural structure or temple portico is visible in the field, suggesting the authority of the Church over temporal monuments. The mintmark letter A appears in the left field. The circular legend AVXILIVM DE SANCTO, taken from Psalm 19, runs along the upper periphery, with the date 1780 at lower right, all within a milled border. |
