Reverse description A robed female figure, identified as Saint Peter personifying the Church or the figure of Religion, seated upon clouds in three-quarter view facing left, rendered in a classicizing Neoclassical style. She holds a key in her raised right hand and rests her left hand upon a miniature domed basilica — an attribute referencing St. Peter's Basilica in Rome — placed on a rocky outcrop to her right. A radiant glory of fine straight rays emanates from behind her head and shoulders, filling the upper field. The encircling Latin legend reads AUXILIUM DE SANCTO, with the date 1818 and mint mark R· positioned in the lower portion of the legend.
