Obverse description Armored bust of Paolo Besso Ferrero-Fieschi facing right, rendered in the hammered style typical of mid-17th-century Italian States coinage. The effigy occupies the central field with visible drapery and armor detailing on the truncation. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading P FER MA D ET MAR CREP MDCXL, incorporating the date in Roman numerals. The flan is irregular in outline, characteristic of hand-hammered production. The overall style reflects the provincial workshop tradition of the Masserano Mint.
