The hair falls in long curled locks to the shoulder in the late Baroque manner. The circumferential Latin legend F · EMMAN VEL PINTO encircles the effigy, separated from the milled border by a raised inner rim. The portrait is rendered in a bold, high-relief style characteristic of mid-18th-century Maltese coinage. |
