Obverse description The Conti family arms — a shield charged with an eagle displayed — surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys, the whole flanked by elaborate foliate and scrollwork mantling. The circular legend in Latin runs along the periphery of the field, reading INNOCENT. XIII. P. M. A. II, identifying Pope Innocent XIII in his second regnal year. The design is executed in high relief consistent with early eighteenth-century Roman engraving traditions.

Reverse description A large ornate baroque cartouche, embellished with scrolling acanthus volutes at the upper and lower extremities, encloses a four-line Latin devotional inscription in bold capital letters. The motto SECTA MINI CHARITATEM, drawn from Scripture, occupies the entire interior of the cartouche, rendered in a clear lapidary style against a smooth field. The overall composition is characteristic of the Roman papal mint's devotional scudo d'oro coinage of the early eighteenth century.
