An escutcheon bearing the arms of Montferrat is superimposed on the eagle's breast. The entire device is set within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a beaded border. | Beschrijving keerzijde | A bold ornate cross pattee with fleur-de-lis terminals at each of the four arms, the horizontal arms additionally adorned with crescent-like flourishes at their ends, and a quatrefoil rosette at the center intersection. The cross is rendered in a decorative, striated style consistent with late Gothic hammered coinage. The device is contained within a plain inner circle with a beaded border, and the Latin Christogram legend encircles the field in the outer margin. |
