Obverse description Central shield bearing the arms of Cardinal Annibale Albani, charged with a tower and a six-pointed star in the field, surmounted by a cardinal's hat with pendant tassels and a processional cross. The papal tiara with crossed keys appears above the hat, all rendered in the Baroque heraldic style typical of Sede Vacante coinage. The circular legend around the periphery reads SEDE VAC ANTE 1724, separated by ornamental stops, with a finely milled border encircling the entire design.
