| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the elaborate quartered arms of Savoy, surmounted by a ducal crown of ornate form. The shield displays the heraldic quarterings of the House of Savoy, incorporating the cross of Savoy, rampant lions, and additional dynastic charges, rendered in fine hammered relief. A partial Latin legend surrounds the shield, with the abbreviated ducal titles distributed around the periphery of the flan. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan shape typical of hammered gold coinage of the period. |
