Obverse description Draped bust of Pope Benedict XIV facing right, wearing the camauro and papal vestments with richly embroidered cope visible at the shoulder. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner characteristic of the Hamerani workshop. The circumferential legend reads BENED·XIV PONT·MAX·AN·XIV, denoting his name, pontifical title, and regnal year, separated by pellets. A fine reeded border frames the entire design.
