| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field displays the crossed keys of Riga — two ornate keys arranged saltire-wise — topped by a small cross pattée, all set within a beaded inner circle. This heraldic device represents the arms of the city of Riga and is rendered in a bold, slightly irregular hammered style. A Latin legend encircles the design in the outer margin, separated from the inner circle by a plain beaded border, reading MONE · NOVA · RIGENSIS followed by the date. The date numerals appear as 153Z, where the final character is a stylized Gothic 'Z' used as a numeral for '2' or '3', reflecting the coin's issue across two years. The reverse composition conforms to standard Livonian schilling typology of the early sixteenth century. |
