| Reverse description | Two crossed keys of Saint Peter, symbolising the ecclesiastical authority of Riga, displayed in the centre of the coin within a beaded inner circle. The keys are depicted in high relief with elaborate bow-shaped handle terminals, characteristic of the Riga mint's hammered schilling production. The surrounding circular legend in Gothic Latin lettering gives the mint name and date, separated by pellet stops. The overall composition is typical of Livonian Order coinage struck at Riga in the first half of the sixteenth century. |
