Obverse description Central field occupied by a straight-sided shield divided vertically, with the left half bearing a diagonally hatched or shaded device associated with the Livonian Order, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The shield is rendered in a simple Gothic heraldic style characteristic of early sixteenth-century Baltic coinage. A circumscribed legend in Gothic uncial lettering runs around the periphery of the coin, reading the abbreviated title of the Master of Livonia. The overall style is typical of hammered billon schillings of the Livonian Order period.
