Obverse description Central shield with a smooth flat top displaying a pointed triangle (arch motif) flanked by two stylized trees or foliate devices, one at each upper corner of the shield, with a third foliage motif at the base point, all rendered in a bold, archaic Gothic style characteristic of Baltic hammered coinage. The shield is enclosed within an inner beaded or linear circle. The surrounding field bears the Latin legend with the date, reading continuously around the circumference within the outer border.
