The shield is enclosed within a beaded inner circle and surrounded by a continuous Latin legend reading the bishop's titles and name. The coin is struck on an irregularly shaped flan typical of hammered coinage of the period. |

The eagle is rendered in a bold, somewhat crude hammered style characteristic of Baltic ecclesiastical coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the inner circle, identifying the mint city of Arensburg and the coin as a nova moneta. The flan is irregular, as is typical for hammered issues of this series. |
