Additional information

Louis I ruled the divided County of Württemberg-Urach from 1419 until his death in 1450, following the partition of Württemberg between the Urach and Stuttgart lines under the Treaty of Münsingen in 1442 — a division that would persist until reunification under Eberhard im Bart in 1482. Coinage from the Urach line is considerably scarcer than equivalent Stuttgart issues, reflecting the smaller territorial and economic base of the southern partition.
