| 裏面の説明 | Full-length frontal figure of St. Kilian, patron saint of Würzburg, standing in high relief wearing episcopal vestments and a mitre. The saint holds a sword in his right hand and a crozier in his left, symbolizing martyrdom and ecclesiastical authority. The figure is rendered in the late Gothic style characteristic of late 15th-century German ecclesiastical coinage. The abbreviated legend in Gothic uncial script encircles the figure within a beaded border. |

Lorenz von Bibra's episcopate at Würzburg began in 1495 following a contested election, and his early coinage reflects an immediate assertion of the bishopric's mint rights at a moment when Franconian ecclesiastical territories were under sustained pressure from secular princes consolidating regional power. This schilling falls within the first three years of his forty-year rule — the longest episcopate Würzburg would see in the entire sixteenth century.
