Obverse description Central field bears a pointed heraldic shield displaying the arms of the Bishopric of Dorpat, featuring two intertwined squiggle or cross-like devices above a horizontal bar, all within a beaded inner circle. The shield is rendered in the late medieval Germanic style typical of Livonian hammered coinage. A circular Latin legend in uncial characters surrounds the inner beaded border, reading the bishop's titulature. The flan is irregular in outline, as characteristic of hand-struck billon schillings of the period.
