Obverse description Central field features a lined heraldic shield with distinctive pointed corners, bearing the crossed keys and cross motif of the Livonian Order, superimposed over a long cross that extends to the coin's inner circle and divides the surrounding Latin legend into four sections. The shield is rendered in a Gothic style typical of mid-sixteenth-century Livonian coinage. The peripheral legend, separated by pellet stops, runs continuously around the inner beaded or linear border. The overall composition is characteristic of the hammered billon schillings struck under the Livonian Order Mastership.
