Obverse description Central shield of the Teutonic Order Grand Master displaying the composite arms: the principal field bears the Teutonic cross, with a secondary escutcheon in the upper portion bearing the Reuss of Plauen family arms. The shield is surmounted by a small decorative crown. The whole is set within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery of the flan.

Reverse description A plain shield bearing a bold cross pattée, dividing the field into four quarters, centrally placed within a beaded inner circle. A small decorative ornament appears above the shield at the top of the inner circle. The encircling Latin legend identifies the monetary authority and territory, running continuously around the outside of the beaded border.
