Obverse description Central field features the interlaced royal cypher FWR (Fridericus Wilhelmus Rex) in elaborate script, surmounted by a royal crown. The engraver's initials C·G· appear in the lower field beneath the monogram. The design is bold and fills the flan, with no peripheral legend, the monogram rendered in a characteristic early 18th-century German baroque style.
