Bogislaw X unified the fragmented Pomeranian duchies under sole rule in 1478 after decades of division among Griffon dynasty branches, and this schilling was struck near the midpoint of his exceptionally long reign — he ruled until 1523. The Stettin mint attribution distinguishes it from contemporaneous Pomeranian issues struck at Stolp and Rügenwalde, which circulated through overlapping but distinct regional trade networks along the Baltic coast.
