Reverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a displayed double-headed imperial eagle with spread wings dominates the field, each head surmounted by a crown and the whole ensigned by a central imperial crown above; on the eagle's breast is a circular orb bearing a cross, referencing the imperial dignity. The surrounding Latin legend records the titles of Holy Roman Emperor Matthias. The design is struck on the same square klippe flan, with the legend running continuously within the beaded border.
