Obverse description Rampant lion facing left, rendered in a bold, archaic style characteristic of early sixteenth-century German municipal coinage. The lion's body is depicted with stylized mane and exaggerated curling tail, occupying nearly the entire field of this small, irregularly struck copper flan. The design is contained within a plain inner border, with the surrounding field showing typical surface irregularities of hammered coinage. No legend is present on this side.
