Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse depicts a tall, finely detailed clove or coconut palm tree rising from a shoreline in the center of the field, its fronds extending broadly toward the upper rim, serving as the principal emblem of Zanzibar. At the base of the palm, two cloves or stylized plant forms flank the trunk, resting upon a low ground line representing the island's coastline with waves indicated below. To the right of the trunk appears the Arabic numeral '١' (1) alongside Arabic script reading 'سنت', denoting the denomination. The date '1908' is inscribed in Western Arabic (Latin) numerals along the lower exergual area. The overall design is emblematic of Zanzibar's identity as a major clove-producing island and reflects the artistic conventions of the Royal Mint, London.
