Obverse description Central field bears the national emblem of Muscat and Oman: a khanjar (curved dagger) in its sheath superimposed upon two crossed swords, the points directed downward. The emblem is rendered in fine relief against a plain field. A circular Arabic legend surrounds the central device, reading the name and title of the ruling sultan. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border running along the inner rim.
