| Opis awersu | Two fan-shaped Kiri (paulownia) crests appear at the top and bottom of the oval flan, flanking two rectangular cartouches. The upper cartouche bears the denomination inscription 壱両 (ichi ryō, 'one ryō') in regular script, while the lower cartouche displays the mint official's family name 光次 (Mitsutsugu) together with his personal seal. The overall design is executed in the traditional hammered koban style, with the inscriptions and crests arranged symmetrically along the vertical axis of the oval field. |

| Opis rewersu | The era marker 文 (Bun, abbreviating the Bunsei era) is inscribed in cursive grass script (sōsho) at the upper right of the oval field, serving as the principal era designation. The mint official's personal seal 石 (Ishi) appears prominently in the center, rendered in regular script. Two stamp marks of mint assay officials, reading 石・五 (Ishi-Go), are impressed in the lower left area of the field, attesting to the coin's authenticity and fineness. The reverse surface retains the characteristic textured hammered finish typical of Edo-period koban coinage. |
