| Reverse description | A large floriated cross occupies the center of the field, with a fleur-de-lis terminating each limb and a rose set upon a sun at the center. In each of the four angles formed by the cross arms appears a crowned lion passant to the left. The entire design is contained within a tressure of eight Gothic arches, creating an elaborate decorative border typical of high-quality Tudor hammered gold coinage. The reverse legend is inscribed in uncial Latin characters within the outer border. |
