| Obverse description | Printed in letterpress on blue-gray paper, the obverse is framed by a border of repeated asterisk ornaments and headed by the legend 'Interims-Banknote' at top center. The central text, in German, identifies the Deutsch-Ostafrikanische Bank as the issuing authority and states the note payable to the bearer without verification, with the denomination '1 Eine Rupie 1' set in large type at mid-field.
