| Obverse description | Bold calligraphic Arabic inscription filling the entire field, bearing the Kalima (Islamic declaration of faith): 'La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur Rasulullah' (There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah), rendered in a large, flowing Naskh script typical of Afghan hammered coinage. The legend is arranged in multiple registers across the flan, with decorative pellet ornaments interspersed in the margins. The irregular flan edge shows characteristic hand-struck production. |
